Our chosen themes for the music video are childhood and
awkwardness/isolation.
choosing our theme took some time because of various reasons, and so we had many, many initial ideas as to how the music video should look like, and how to represent our performer.
in the end we chose childhood as the theme because I became obsessed with the title sequence to the film “Amélie” by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, and wanted to create something similar to it. the others agreed it was really good, and so we started to work on it.
the other themes, awkwardness and isolation were chosen because Morrissey’s lyrics, to us, depicted a character who was uncomfortable with themselves, and a recluse, with lines such as

We also thought the character was troubled because of
their isolation, with disturbing imagery such as teeth being smashed and flames
and violence. We also looked at the way Morrissey himself portrays himself to
the public, and he does seem a shy, reserved and awkward person when he is on
